The Shanghai Museum of Natural Science (Shanghai Science and Technology Museum) is one of the largest natural museums in China. Located in the center of Shanghai, Address: No. 260 East Yan 'an Road, Huangpu District. The building is built in the classical Style of Britain, with a floor area of 12,880 square meters.
The organization includes: Department of Zoology, Department of Botany, Department of Geology and Paleontology, Department of Anthropology, Department of Astronomy, Department of Popularization of Science Education, Department of Data, Department of Art design, Center of Taxidermy and Nature & Man magazine. Shanghai Museum of Natural History has a collection of nearly 270,000 specimens, among which "Yellow River elephant" and "Mamenxi dinosaur" are called "treasures of the Museum". In 2014, the Shanghai Museum of Nature, nearly 50 years old, officially closed on May 12, 2014 and moved into the Jing 'an Sculpture Park in Jing 'an District. The new museum was officially opened on April 19, 2015.
